Simba O2X Provider Released

The Simba O2X Provider is out and offers XMLA support for OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO). This is a client side ODBO provider for XMLA and allows you to exploit XMLA web services to serve ODBO clients like MS Excel and others. The Simba O2X Provider supports high-performance access to sources via the XMLA, ODBO and MDX standards, and surfaces data from sources like Oracle-OLAP, SAP-BW and Microsoft MSAS in a very flexible manner.

  • Client-side driver capable of connecting to multi-dimensional data sources
  • Compliant with the following standards:
  • XML for Analysis (XMLA)
  • Both 32-bit and 64-bit OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO)
  • MDX 1999 and MDX 2005 query language standards
  • Supports numerous ODBO consumers, most importantly Microsoft Excel 2013/2010/2007/2003
  • Supports connectivity to a wide variety of XMLA data sources, and virtually any data source using a XMLA provider built using Simba’s MDX Language Software Development Kit (SDK)
  • Easy installation and configuration process
  • Includes detailed documentation
