For many there is a misperception that deploying map views is hard or requires additional licensing on their database or purchasing 3rd party map content. In truth, everything you need to deploy map views is either freely available or included in your OBIEE license and you can have map views up in running in almost no-time. If you haven’t deployed maps in your OBIEE environment but have always wanted to come to this session to learn about how you can get them up a running all by yourself without having to buy anything. This hands on lab will focus on showing users how to deploy a map in OBIEE 12c from start to finish. We will show attendees how to utilize Map Builder to import a shapefile into the database and create a dynamic theme for use inside of OBIEE on top of eLocation background maps. We will also cover how to use new free functionality in the Oracle 12c database and Map Editor to easily create custom territories and other custom geometries that can be exposed in Answers, Visual Analyzer and Data Visualization Desktop.
