Microsoft Excel is the most pervasive BI product. Oracle OLAP is a powerful multi-dimensional BI engine right in your Oracle Database. This session demonstrates how this cost effective database option allows any analytical enterprise user to directly employ this engine for fully interactive business intelligence from Excel. No special training is required—it’s just pivot tables—no new software to learn. The solution described uses a small driver to enable Excel’s multi-dimensional queries to translate directly into Oracle OLAP access. There is no complicated middle tier. We will present customer examples and the surprising benefits they have encountered by empowering end users to access their data warehouse data directly from Excel.
