Well, this has been an interesting week. I’m flying back from Las Vegas right now. I spent the past couple of days talking with Oracle people about how we implement Oracle BI. We had a booth there–I’ll insert a picture here tomorrow. And there was a lot of interest in our Oracle BI EE on Oracle OLAP demo.

Everybody is talking about Hyperion, about OBIEE and the various product groups. Unfortunately, all the sessions are “Oracle Only” except I was able to attend one session where I discussed how we built the OBI EE on OLAP demo. So all my information is second-hand. Watch this space for more information and big announcements about Oracle’s BI direction.

The big news from today is that Oracle is announcing “Oracle BI EE Plus”. That includes some Hyperion products in addition to the products we now know of in OBI EE. I heard conflicting information on EXACTLY what that includes, so I’ll wait for confirmation before I go into more depth. Ditto on what products are being emaphasized and de-emphasized. Needless to say, it’s an interesting time for Oracle BI. Stay tuned…
